Quaglione says his council campaign raised $30,000 in 2 weeks
John Quaglione, a Republican hoping to unseat longtime Democratic Councilman Vincent Gentile, said his campaign got off to a flying start by raising an impressive $30,000 in its first two weeks.
Quaglione’s campaign filed its first financial report to the New York City Campaign Finance Board on March 18. Quaglione brought in $30,000 in contributions from 162 individuals, 121 of whom live within the 43rd Council District 43, according to the filing.
Quaglione’s campaign began raising money on March 4. Quaglione officially announced his candidacy to a room full of supporters at a Bay Ridge restaurant on March 11. The campaign kickoff also served as a fundraiser. The candidate, who plans to take part in the city’s campaign finance system, said he has met the thresholds for maximum matching contributions.
