BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — “Bushwick is the next big thing,” says Lori Raphael, director of Real Estate and Development for the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce. A panel discussion, sponsored by the Real Estate and Development (RED) Committee of the Chamber, will focus on Bushwick beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16, at St. Francis College, 180 Remsen St.
In her planning for each of the panel discussions, Raphael said she sought speakers who would cover the gamut — from an overview to specific experiences with development.
The four speakers covering Bushwick are:
• David Maundrel of aptsandlofts.com, who will provide the neighborhood overview;
• Michael Amirkhanian of Massey Knakal Realty Services, who will talk about investments sales in Bushwick
;
• Andrew Jackson, project manager for The Knick, a new development in Bushwick, who will discuss this and other residential developments; and
• Jamie Wiseman of Cayuga Capitol, a developer and financial backer of the Wyckoff Exchange, which won a Building Brooklyn Award in 2011, who will discuss new retail.
Raphael said it is too late to reserve a seat for this week’s event, as there are already 120 people registered for the 80 available seats.
