  1. Nice article. I remember reading that the property of Greenwood Cemetery was purchased by the family, among other investors, because of its highest point location in Brooklyn overlooking New York Harbour, a view only befitting for the wealthy. It was one of the Pierrepont women though, I further read, who eyed the area and planted the seed to have it be a burial ground for the rich. It’s majestic landscape is no longer surrounded by the beauty it once captured.
