FLATBUSH AVE. TO MANHATTAN — TRACK REPLACEMENT along the 1, 2 and 3 train routes will disrupt subway service in Brooklyn this weekend and subsequent weekends through the end of August, the Metropolitan Transit Authority and the Daily News reported on Wednesday.
The 3 train will stop service from 11:30 p.m. on Friday, July 24 until 5 a.m. Monday, July 27, while 2 trains will be suspended between the Flatbush Avenue-Brooklyn College station and West 34th Street hub. These changes are in effect each weekend until Aug. 29.
During these planned weekend service changes, 4 trains will replace 3 service between the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center hub and New Lots Avenue, with additional 4 trains put in service. Meanwhile, 5 trains will take the usual 2 route between Wakefield/241st Street station and Flatbush Avenue, making local stops in Brooklyn. Commuters who ride the 2 to or from Clark Street, Borough Hall and Hoyt Street stations should take the 4 or R trains at Borough Hall instead.
All 1 train service to the lower Manhattan stations is suspended, and will terminate southbound at 14th Street, for the same track replacement. Commuters are advised to use the 4 and 5 and R trains as alternate routes.
