
SUNSET PARK — A PASSENGER ON a moped being driven by a teen in Bush Terminal Park was ejected from the vehicle and died on Tuesday around 9:29 p.m., police said.
According to the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad, the unidentified male passenger and the 17-year-old male driver were riding a 2023 ZNEN Moped, traveling westbound on a jetty inside the park, when the operator lost control. The passenger was ejected and sustained severe head trauma.
Emergency Medical Services transported the passenger to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, where he was pronounced deceased. There are no arrests at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing. The identity of the victim is pending.
