
CITY HALL — MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL’S ASIAN-AMERICAN DELEGATION ARE HOSTING A LUNAR NEW YEAR CELEBRATION next Monday, Feb. 9.
Councilmember Susan Zhuang, D-43, will co-host the event at Council Chambers with Speaker Julie Menin and councilmembers Sandra Ung, Julie Won, Linda Lee, Phil Wong and Shekar Krishnan. The United Chinese Association of Brooklyn and the Asian American Foundation, as well as community member Jeannie Park, will be honored for their contributions to the city. Korean drummer students from P.S. 203, Fei Fei Yang and the Nai Ni Chen Dance Company will perform.
Founded in 2002, the UCA is present in several neighborhoods to ensure underserved and vulnerable populations in Brooklyn communities have access to reliable information, resources and services. The AAF, established in 1989, bolsters the well-being of New York’s pan-Asian community through research, policy advocacy, public awareness and support for nonprofits.
