
BUSHWICK — AN 80-YEAR-OLD man was slashed across the face in Bushwick at around 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, reports the New York Post.
The victim was speaking with a friend at Knickerbocker Avenue and Troutman Street when a man approached, said “I’m going to cut you,” and attacked him with a knife. The victim was treated at a local hospital for facial lacerations.
Police arrested Israel Rivera, 56, at the scene. He faces charges including felony assault, weapon possession and menacing.
Police described Rivera as an acquaintance of the victim. He has eight prior arrests, including an alleged 2022 shooting of a cyclist on the same block.
