
CITYWIDE — DUE TO SPREADING SMOKE from Canadian wildfires, the city is making available free KN95 masks at hundreds of Brooklyn, Queens and New York Public Library locations, plus all NYPD precincts, nine FDNY firehouses, four major transit hubs and at various events through partnerships with city agencies and City Council members, according to a release from the Mayor’s Office. With temperatures hovering in the lower 90s, cooling centers will remain open. Find mask pickup locations using the city’s Mask Distribution Site map.
The National Weather Service on Thursday declared an Air Quality Action Day, which means that Fine Particulates within the region may approach or exceed unhealthy standards.
