BUSHWICK – A BROOKLYN MAN in Brooklyn Supreme Court on Monday was sentenced to up to six years in prison over a 2024 fatal hit-and-run crash in Bushwick that killed a 29-year-old man, Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez announced.
Christopher Seabrook, 29, last month pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter, second-degree assault and leaving the scene of an incident without reporting.
Just after midnight on Jan. 8, 2024, Seabrook was driving a Kia Sportage at high speed on Irving Avenue in Bushwick when he crashed into a Toyota Yaris in the intersection at Stockholm Street.
The force of the impact spun the Toyota and its four passengers into multiple parked vehicles, killing Hayden Wallace, 29, who was riding in its right rear seat. The three surviving occupants suffered severe injuries, including fractured ribs, fractured clavicles, internal injuries and organ damage.
Seabrook then exited the Kia and fled on foot before emergency responders arrived. Video surveillance later tracked the defendant walking to a nearby smoke shop after the collision. He was arrested in February 2025 following an investigation.
