BROWNSVILLE – SCHOOL PARAPROFESSIONAL DEMITRIUS Williams, 41, was arrested and charged on Wednesday with assault, endangering the welfare of a child, menacing and harassment, after a February incident left a child injured, the New York Post reports.
On the morning of Feb. 5, Williams allegedly lifted a 10-year-old student in a “cradle-like” hold, authorities said, shook him, and then dropped him to the ground. The boy was cut on the lip and bruised on the hip and shoulder. Williams has been suspended pending the investigation, according to the Department of Education, and was released to await trial.
Police did not specify which of four co-located schools in the school building (at Christopher and Glenmore aves) Williams worked for.
