PROSPECT HEIGHTS — A HALF-HOUR SPECIAL PREMIERES FRIDAY ON NET–TV featuring some of the nearly 1,300 individuals who became Catholics at this year’s Easter Vigil Masses across the Diocese of Brooklyn. A press release from the diocese announced the Currents News special, “Coming to Catholicism,” which will air Friday, April 17, at 7 p.m.
The Easter Vigil, which dates back to Early Christianity, marks the end of Lent and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. On this occasion, the church officially welcomes new converts after a catechumenate period, during which they are instructed in the tenets of the faith. Across the diocese, which includes Queens, 1,288 new Catholics professed their faith at their respective parishes’ Easter Vigil celebrations on April 4. Some of the participants include a combat veteran who discovered his faith after he and his wife adopted a child and an expert in artificial intelligence who realized he was missing what AI could not replace.
“Coming to Catholicism” will air on Currents News, the daily newscast of NET-TV, a cable network featuring news and information from a Catholic perspective.
