
BRIGHTON BEACH — POLICE ARE ASKING the public’s help in finding a person suspected of pushing a 71-year-old woman to the ground and injuring her along a busy retail strip in Brighton Beach. According to authorities, on Friday around 10:25 a.m., the victim was in front of 221 Brighton Beach Ave. when she was approached from behind and shoved by the unidentified individual, causing her to fall. The suspect then fled on foot westbound on Brighton Beach Avenue toward Ocean Parkway.
The victim sustained lacerations, bruising, swelling to the face and left knee and a jaw injury, and she was transported by Emergency Medical Services to NYC Health + Hospitals/ South Brooklyn Health in stable condition.
Surveillance photos showed the suspect with dark skin and manicured nails, wearing a black or dark blue Nike cap over an olive green woven beanie, camo pants, sunglasses, a black or dark blue shirt, and a knee-length coat with a hood.
