WILLIAMSBURG — AFTER SEVERAL YEARS of planning, a Business Improvement District for Williamsburg’s Northside section is now in the ballot phase, according to Councilmember Lincoln Restler’s Tuesday newsletter.
Restler has been working with local stakeholders and Councilmember Jennifer Gutierrez to get the BID established. All residential and commercial property owners and businesses in the “catchment area” (Grand Street to North 15th Street, and Bedford Avenue to the East River) are eligible to vote to determine if the proposal moves forward.

BIDs collect an annual assessment from property owners and businesses, which is reinvested back into the community with street cleaning and beautification efforts.
