WILLIAMSBURG — POLICE HAVE ARRESTED a 45-year-old man accused of spitting on multiple women in Williamsburg, following a wave of reports on social media, according to News12 Brooklyn. Anthony Caines was charged with aggravated harassment in the second degree after surveillance footage captured him lunging at a woman near Bedford Avenue and Grand Street last Tuesday morning. The victim warned neighbors on Reddit, prompting other women to come forward with similar accounts of being spat on within a 24-hour period.
“Thank you to the man who ran inside the store for paper towels for me to wipe my face and the couple who said they might have security footage,” the original poster wrote on Reddit.
