CONEY ISLAND — MEMBERS OF THE New York State Unified Court System and its fraternal organizations and unions will join the Brooklyn Cyclones once again for Courts Night. The event will take place at Maimonides Park on July 17 at 6 p.m., honoring several within the system.
A memorial wreath will be laid at the Brooklyn Wall of Remembrance honoring 9/11 first responders Captain Harry Thompson, Officer Thomas Jurgens and Officer Mitchel Wallace. Members of the Baccellieri family are also slated to throw out the first pitch in honor of Chief Joe Baccellieri. Each fraternal organization and union will recognize various Unified Court System staff between innings on the scoreboard.
Frank Sheridan, president of the New York State Courts Emerald Society and chief deputy county clerk and deputy commissioner of jurors, told the Brooklyn Eagle that the idea of Courts Night was hatched by Cyclones Vice President Steve Cohen.
