BROOKLYN – STATE SEN. ANDREW Gounardes, the incumbent in the 26th state Senate District, won his election race against former state Sen. Vito LaBella on Tuesday night, and released a statement thanking his western Brooklyn district’s voters for sending him back to Albany, as well as setting out his legislative priorities. “We have many fights ahead: for safer streets, for a safer internet for all, for a city and state that cares about the families that live and work here. I’ll be working every day of this next term to prove to my neighbors that they made the right choice,” Gounardes stated.
News 12 reports that Gounardes had around 79% of the vote share as of Tuesday night, with around 90% of votes counted.
