
MIDWOOD — THE NYPD ON Friday arrested two suspects, Manuel Perez, 49, and Francisco Cocoroj, 25, in the Sept. 18 Midwood homicide of Cos Jervis Jonas Ajpuac. Both have been charged with first-degree manslaughter, second-degree assault and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon. Perez and Cocoroj are accused of approaching Ajpuac and a second homeless man as the pair slept in the parking lot of a McDonald Avenue Shop Rite, and beating them with metal pipes and a baseball bat. Ajpuac sustained internal bleeding and passed away at Maimonides Medical Center on Oct. 2, while the second victim suffered cuts and bruising to the head and body but recovered.
