
On Thursday, November 20 cops joined a local bird-watcher in making a gruesome discovery. The woman, looking for rare birds from the 69th Street Pier, reportedly sighted what looked like a body on the rocks nearby.
According to the NYPD, cops responded to an “aided case” in the vicinity of 68th Street and Wakeman Place around 12:38 p.m. Once there, officers observed a 38-year-old man lying face down and fully clothed on the rocks.
Emergency Medical Services responded and pronounced the man dead on arrival. The Medical Examiner has yet to determine the cause of death and the investigation is ongoing.
The name of the deceased is being withheld pending family notification.
