
Following a very successful neighborhood cleanup on August 9 inwhich 102 young people participated in cleaning up Seth Low Parkand the surrounding Kings Highway,
Avenue P and Bay Parkway areas, the Bensonhurst/GravesendLegislator will be holdinganother neighborhood clean-up on Saturday, September 17 from 10 amto 1PM with the same volunteer groups plus additional volunteers,anxious to clean up the areas on Avenue X from Ocean Parkway toMcDonald Avenue, Avenue U from McDonald Avenue to 86th Street, andMcDonald Avenue from Avenue X to Avenue U.The NYC Department of Sanitation will be providing brushes,shovels, bags, and gloves and cleaning supplies to the Clean-Upeffort. Assemblyman Colton was so impressed with the enthusiasm ofthe young citizens that he set up the next clean-up for a differentarea in Gravesend. Hopefully the weather will be more tolerablethan the last one, in which the kids were sweating but theirspirits never dampened.
