FEDERAL COURT/MANHATTAN — THE FEDERAL JUDGE IN THE SEAN ‘DIDDY’ COMBS CASE DENIED BAIL for the rapper and ordered him to jail as he awaits trial, reports the Associated Press. U.S. Magistrate Judge Robyn Tarnofsky expressed “very significant concerns” about Combs’ substance abuse and “what appears to be anger issues.” Tarnofsky said that although she considered alternatives, she didn’t believe they would suffice because so much of Combs’ alleged activity happened behind closed doors.

Combs pleaded not guilty to the charges named in the indictment, which include sex trafficking and racketeering, as well as drugging his female victims and, in one case captured on video camera, attacking his former girlfriend, R&B singer Cassie Ventura. Federal marshals led Combs away after his court appearance on Tuesday, Sept. 17.

Combs’ attorney, Marc Agnifilio, said that he would appeal the decision to deny bail, calling his client “a fighter.”
