DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — THE NEW YORK CITY Landmarks Preservation Commission on Tuesday approved revised plans for a 420-foot-tall mixed-use tower over four individually landmarked Duffield Street Houses in Downtown Brooklyn, according to New York YIMBY. Designed by Hill West Architects and Acheson Doyle Partners Architects, the project will incorporate the historic houses at 182-188 Duffield St. into the base of the tower.

The homes, which have been associated with the Underground Railroad, were relocated by Forest City Ratner during MetroTech’s development. In Oct. 2025, LPC stalled the controversial bid, the Brooklyn Eagle reported.
The project will be 30 feet shorter than originally proposed, with improved connections to the landmarked houses and enhancements to the shared courtyard space, according to YIMBY.
