BROWNSVILLE — A NEW SENIOR HOUSING DEVELOPMENT, the Gail P. Duke Senior Residence, located at 350 Livonia Ave., offers rents as low as $0 for eligible New Yorkers ages 62 and older, PIX11 reports.
The lottery includes 24 studios and 23 one-bedroom apartments. The 142-unit, all-electric building meets Passive House standards and features solar panels, heat pump water heaters and free in-unit Wi-Fi. Amenities include a rooftop laundry room with skyline views, a landscaped terrace and a 10,000-square-foot Older Adult Center operated by Catholic Charities Neighborhood Services.
New York City Housing Authority project-based vouchers support the project; tenants generally pay 30% of adjusted income, meaning households with no income could qualify for $0 rent. Five percent of units are reserved for mobility impairments, and 2% for vision or hearing impairments.
The application period ends April 26, 2026. Applications may be submitted online via NYC Housing Connect or by mail.
