BROOKLYN NAVY YARD — A FORMER DINER diner on Wythe Avenue in Williamsburg, once home to Relish, is relocating to Brooklyn Navy Yard for a full-time film and TV role, The New York Times reported Wednesday. Sold for $12.5 million to a developer planning 28 apartments, the 1950s prefab was saved from demolition by Steiner Studios’ Doug Steiner, spending “somewhere between a few and several hundred thousand dollars” on the move. Steiner told the Times he used to eat at the diner.
Sandy Stillman, its 2000-2010 operator, recalled its gritty past. The site, used in “The Good Shepherd,” will join sets like “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.”
