BROOKLYN — NYC DEPARTMENT FOR THE AGING launched its fourth annual Farmers Market Nutrition Program on Friday, with hundreds of local organizations distributing 70,000 coupon booklets, up 15,000 from 2024, adding $400,000 in value for eligible older city dwellers. Each $25 booklet, valid until November 30, 2025, aids seniors meeting income criteria (starting at $2,413 per month for one-person households) in buying local produce, including fruit, vegetables, mushrooms and cut herbs.
More information about where to find a local distribution site and list of participating vendors is available on NYC Aging’s website. Residents can also call Aging Connect at 212-AGING-NYC (212-244-6469).
