CITYWIDE — Mount Sinai Hospital is ranked as a top hospital in New York state on Newsweek/Statista’s “World’s Best Hospitals” list for 2025. Making the list for the third consecutive year, Mount Sinai moved up to No. 7 within the United States and No. 19 in the world in the top 250.
Hospitals within the Mount Sinai Hospital Health System continue to make gains on the global and local stage. Mount Sinai operates an acute-care community hospital in Midwood, although that facility was not specifically named on the list.
According to a description of the Newsweek/Statista roster, the ranking is based on an extensive evaluation process, including an online survey of thousands of medical experts (doctors, hospital managers and health care professionals), patient experience data, hospital quality metrics and a PROMs Implementation Survey, which are defined as standardized, validated questionnaires that patients complete to measure their perception of their functional well-being and quality of life.
Also among the ranking hospitals in the U.S. are New York-Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia and Cornell; and NYU Langone Hospitals – Tisch Hospital, which ranked 18th and 19th within the U.S., respectively. Worldwide, they ranked 77th and 93rd respectively. The Hospital for Special Surgery made the list in the “Special” category.
