CITY HALL — NYC MAYOR ADAMS on Tuesday announced his intention to nominate Muriel Goode-Trufant as the city’s next corporation counsel. Goode-Trufant spent more than 30 years in the NYC Law Department, where she has served as acting corporation counsel since former Corporation Counsel Judge Sylvia Hinds-Radix stepped down in July.
The corporation counsel is primarily responsible for providing legal representation to the City of New York — for the Mayor’s Office, Public Advocate’s Office, Comptroller’s Office, city agencies, and the City Council — in all civil litigation. Her nomination must be confirmed by the City Council.
Adams’ initial controversial choice for the position was super-lawyer Randy Mastro, who withdrew his nomination following a “bruising” 11-hour City Council hearing, the New York Times reported. Mastro served as an aide to former Mayor Rudy Giuliani from 1994 to 1998.

SUNSET PARK — “As a resident of Marine Park, one of the great surprises I found biking around Industry City and visiting Japan Village was to discover Bush Terminal Park.
