
CONEY ISLAND – POLICE SAY THAT a teenager was shot and killed over the weekend near the entrance to the Sea Gate gated community.
At around 4:50 p.m. on Sunday, April 27, the NYPD responded to a 911 call of a male shot near West 36th Street and Surf Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found an 18-year-old in critical condition, with a gunshot wound to the chest. Although EMS brought the victim to NYU Langone Hospital Brooklyn, he shortly thereafter succumbed to his injuries.
Police say there have been no arrests, and that the investigation remains ongoing.
The identity of the deceased is pending family notification.
