
RED HOOK — THE FIFTH EDITION of Press Play, Brooklyn’s biggest winter book fair and art expo, is set to take place next weekend at Pioneer Works in Red Hook, featuring over 130 vendors – small presses, record labels, musicians, writers, local eats and more – as well as guest speakers and panels. Events include singer-songwriter Moses Sumney speaking on the financial realities of releasing music independently; the Celebrity Book Club podcast hosts with author Laura Albert; a sustainable garment workshop with the Secret Riso Club art group and the Everybody.World clothing brand; a panel with Lux, New York Review of Architecture and Hell Gate on public access to restrooms and more.
Press Play is free to enter and will take place on Dec. 7 and 8 from noon to 7 p.m. at Pioneer Works. Talks will stream live on 89.9 WKCR-FM, Columbia University’s student-run radio station.
