
DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — THE KINGS COUNTY Family Court will host its annual Teen Day program June 4 at 330 Jay St. Teen Day is designed to connect court-involved youth aged 13 to 21 and older with meaningful community resources and services, according to Family Court Judge Hon. Raymi V. Ramseur-Usher. This year’s theme will be “A Bridge To Your Future.”
Various agencies, including the Department of Probation and the Administration for Children’s Services, will have information and workshops geared towards court-involved youth. Additionally, there will be a clothing giveaway room and raffles. The program begins at 11 a.m. and will feature welcome remarks by Ramseur-Usher and Hon. Gilbert Taylor, in addition to a panel presentation from Court Appointed Special Advocates, CASA and Legal Aid Society Youth Advisory Members. Jasiyah Gilbert of the LAS will serve as the event’s moderator.
The Kings County Family Court is a specialized court in New York City’s Second Judicial District that handles matters involving children and families — including adoption, guardianship, foster care approval and review, juvenile delinquency, family violence, child abuse and neglect, child support, custody and visitation.
