DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — POLICE HAVE ARRESTED A MAN suspected in the attack and robbery of a Jewish man on the N train in Downtown Brooklyn on Monday morning. Neil Hurlock, 20, a resident of Flatlands, was arrested and charged Thursday at 9 p.m. within the 84th Precinct, which includes Downtown Brooklyn.
The 54-year-old victim was onboard the southbound N at the Atlantic Avenue subway station on Monday morning when the suspect allegedly punched him in the face and body while making anti-Jewish statements, and forcibly removed his yarmulke from his head. Emergency medical services transported the victim to SUNY Downstate Medical Center in stable condition.
Hurlock was charged with robbery – hate crime (two counts), robbery, assault – hate crime, petit larceny – hate crime, petit larceny, aggravated harassment, assault and criminal possession of stolen property.
