CROWN HEIGHTS — REP. YVETTE CLARKE (D-9) will hold a community listening session on Thursday, Feb. 19, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Brooklyn Public Library’s Central Branch, 10 Grand Army Plaza, inviting residents to raise local concerns, according to the congresswoman’s event page.
Some of the Community members plan to address homeless shelters and proposed protected bike lanes on Kingston and Brooklyn avenues.
Another topic likely to come up is the Kingsbrook Shul, the nearly century-old shul on the Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center campus that may face demolition as part of a housing redevelopment plan.
Governor Hochul temporarily paused the demolition, while One Brooklyn Health has pushed for the construction of affordable housing in its place, per a $400M deal with New York State.
Some attendees also plan to question Clarke’s 2015 support for the Iran nuclear agreement.
