DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — TWENTY CONCERTGOERS reported their phones stolen during a Nov. 7 Hot Mulligan show at the Brooklyn Paramount, describing a coordinated pickpocketing spree inside the packed Downtown Brooklyn venue. According to News12 Brooklyn, victims discovered the thefts around 8:30 p.m., and the devices were immediately powered off, which prevented tracking. Several people reported that their phones were pinging in China days later. No arrests have been made. Concertgoers told News12 similar theft patterns have appeared at other venues.
NYPD told News12 that pickpocketing complaints are down 11% citywide this year, with 1,318 incidents reported compared with 1,474 over the same period in 2024.
