BRIGHTON BEACH — AN ARGUMENT OUTSIDE A LAUNDROMAT in Brighton Beach Sunday night turned fatal, the NYPD and WPIX-11 TV station reported.
A 54-year-old man identified as an employee of the Laundry King laundromat at 39 Neptune Ave., along with his 19-year-old son got into an argument with another individual, whom sources said was a customer, around 10:40 p.m. on June 22. The fight then moved and escalated inside the laundromat.
Police officers responding to a 911 call found the 54-year-old with a stab wound to the torso, and a 19-year-old male with a laceration to the forehead. EMS transported the victims to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn.
The employee, identified as Walid Noureldin of Bay Ridge, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased, while his son was reportedly in stable condition. Laundromat customers said that the elder Mr. Noureldin was “beloved.”
Witnesses told the Daily News that the assailant wore a dark-colored T-shirt. He fled with a woman in a 2007 Ford Crown Victoria westbound on Neptune Ave., police said.
Anyone with knowledge on this incident is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), visiting crimestoppers.nypdonline.org, downloading the NYPD Crime Stoppers mobile app, or texting 274637 (CRIMES) then entering TIP577.
