GOWANUS — CHARNEY COMPANIES and Tavros obtained $145 million in financing from Silver Point Capital, Brodsky Organization, and Tikehau Capital for a 1,000-unit rental development at 175 Third Avenue in Gowanus, according to The Real Deal. The development is part of the team’s four-building Gowanus Wharf project, which includes 2,200 apartments. The property was acquired from RFR, which procured a 421-a tax abatement.
The Gowanus Wharf website describes the eclectic nature of the area as: “Artful invention. Personal expression. Makers, doers, and dreamers collide and create culture.” Rents run from roughly $3,350 for studios to $9,000 for a two-bedroom with terrace on the ninth floor.
