MIDWOOD — EXTERIOR WORK IS NEARLY complete on 1508 Coney Island Avenue, a 10-story commercial building in Midwood, Brooklyn, according to New York YIMBY. Designed by SHoP Architects for developer Baruch Singer, the 215,379 square foot structure at Avenue L is clad in glass and metal paneling. Construction initially stalled after starting in 2014 but resumed in 2019 and was financed by a $92 million loan.
A lawsuit was filed last year over delays in the project, which threatened the plans of a yeshiva that had wanted to start classes at the property last fall, The Real Deal reported in March 2024.
