
EAST NEW YORK — ZANIR CHILDS, 18, was fatally shot in the torso, and an 18-year-old unidentified woman was wounded in the arm in a shooting across from P.S. 36 on New Jersey Avenue near Linden Boulevard at 9:55 p.m. on Saturday, according to police. Childs, a Boulevard Houses resident, died at Kings County Hospital. The woman is stable at Brookdale University Hospital.
Neighbors reported hearing five or six shots and seeing youths flee, the Daily News reported.
