
ATLANTIC CITY — A BROOKLYN MAN hit the jackpot on a slot machine at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, the casino reported Monday. The man won the Super Grand Bonus jackpot on a Dollar Storm Emperor’s Treasure slot machine by Aristocrat Gaming, which has a $5 denomination. The man, who did not wish to be identified, bet $50 on the machine. The casino offers 2,298 slots, plus 128 table games including poker, blackjack, baccarat, craps and roulette.
According to H&R Block, federal income tax on gambling winnings is withheld at a flat rate of 24%, plus state taxes according to the state. Gamblers can deduct losses up to the amount they report as gambling winnings.
