PARK SLOPE – BELOVED MARIONETTE theater company Puppetworks is being forced to shut the doors of its Sixth Avenue playhouse this fall after nearly four decades at the location, Gothamist reports. The building has been sold to a developer, according to staff.
Management said that Puppetworks is currently searching for a new home for its family-friendly theater, with a venue in Industry City looking likely, and that while they’d have liked to stay in the neighborhood, Park Slope is now too expensive.
Puppetworks will continue to host shows through the summer, including the upcoming “The Tortoise and the Hare” and “Pinocchio.”
