Transportation Alternatives Fellow Surveying Brooklyn Families
Transportation Alternatives, a New York organization that advocates for safer streets, parks and other public spaces for pedestrians and cyclists, is conducting a survey around parts of Brooklyn to find out how people feel about their neighborhoods. The survey will be coordinated by Stephanie Kneeshaw-Price, winner of the 2012 Transportation Alternatives Dr. Carl Henry Nacht Fellowship.
TA is looking for children between the ages of 6-11 and their parents to complete a survey about how much physical activity they get and how they feel about their neighborhood. Residents of Brownsville, Cobble Hill, Carroll Gardens and the Columbia Street Waterfront District are encouraged to participate.
Research will be collected via photography, surveys and discussion, and aims to explore the relationships among neighborhood factors, families' levels of physical activity and their opinion of their neighborhoods.
