Brooklyn Today March 12: Brooklyn Today: Subway trains are moving faster

The Lede

Happy Tuesday! You’re not hallucinating. Trains are moving faster at more than 50 stations, according to transit officials. R trains departing the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center station, for instance, are running 10 mph faster than before. MTA is also allowing trains to speed up in between stations. For example, southbound C trains between Kingston and Utica avenues can now go 45 mph, up from 25. Whether you’ll get to work on time remains to be seen — but it’s a step in the right direction.
