    Many of the 100,000 people who held city-issued Br Many of the 100,000 people who held city-issued Brooklyn Bridge Park viewing tickets for The Macy’s July 4 Fireworks called the event a “total fiasco,” with a large number not making it onto the piers.

Numerous people told the Brooklyn Eagle they found themselves in panic-inducing logjams while trying to get into the park.

Many commenters said there appeared to be no central coordination for handling the huge crowds, and photos show unsafe, crammed streets.

    It was like a bombshell dropped on Brooklyn Height It was like a bombshell dropped on Brooklyn Heights earlier this week when the city announced a police shutdown of traffic into the neighborhood — particularly, the Brooklyn Heights Promenade, which will be closed to all public viewing of the Macy’s July 4th fireworks 🎇 on the waterfront.

The surrounding neighborhood will face major disruptions starting at 2 PM:

🔒 Street closures
🪪 Mandatory ID checks for residents
🚫 No vehicle access in key areas
🚷 Clark Street subway station skipped from 8–11 PM
