    New York City comptroller and Democratic mayoral c New York City comptroller and Democratic mayoral candidate Brad Lander was arrested by federal agents at an immigration court Tuesday as he was trying to accompany a person out of a courtroom.

A reporter with The Associated Press witnessed Lander’s arrest at a federal building in Manhattan. The person Lander was walking out of the courtroom was also arrested.

Lander had spent the morning observing immigration court hearings and told an AP reporter that he was there to “accompany” some immigrants out of the building.

    Hundreds marched in Downtown Brooklyn on Saturday Hundreds marched in Downtown Brooklyn on Saturday to mark “No Kings Day,” a national day of protest against the Trump Administration.

Despite the rain, the crowd grew larger as the marchers, almost all local residents, circled around two parks — Korean War Veterans Plaza and Cadman Plaza Park — next to the Federal Courthouse and other Downtown courts.

    The Federal Courthouse in Downtown Brooklyn was ev The Federal Courthouse in Downtown Brooklyn was evacuated for hours on Thursday as FDNY, NYPD, Emergency Services and HAZMAT responded to a report of a delivery of a suspicious package containing an unknown substance.

Courthouse personnel were told to just drop what they were doing and get out.

Police told the Brooklyn Eagle that they received a call of a suspicious package at 10:35 a.m., while an FDNY spokesperson said they received a report of a suspicious substance — a white powder.
