    A Brooklyn-based architect and urban planner has d A Brooklyn-based architect and urban planner has developed an innovative design to replace the decrepit Triple Cantilever section of the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, and it has received high initial marks from engineers and stakeholders. The “Streamline Plan,” by Marc Wouters Studios, represents a complete break with previous proposals from the New York City Department of Transportation, which require the teardown of the entire cantilever structure, including the Brooklyn Heights Promenade, and the construction of a temporary “parallel” bypass highway, which would also ultimately have to be torn down.  The plan, which Wouters shared with the Brooklyn Eagle, would preserve the entire cantilever, eliminate the need for extensive demolition and reconstruction, and would take significantly less time and money than any of NYCDOT’s current reconstruction proposals.  Read more at the link in bio. The organizer, who identified herself only as Catherine T., said, “I can’t imagine that we aren’t out in the streets every day protesting this administration. It’s just criminal what they’re doing. And Musk, particularly, is self-dealing and sending himself billions of dollars of contracts of government money.     President Donald Trump’s administration on Wedne President Donald Trump’s administration on Wednesday ordered a halt to New York City’s congestion pricing system, which thins traffic and funds mass transit by imposing high tolls on drivers entering some parts of Manhattan. Trump’s move was condemned by Brooklyn officials — with some exceptions, such as U.S. Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-Southern Brooklyn-Staten Island), the city’s lone Republican congressmember. Launched on Jan. 5, the city’s system uses license plate readers to impose a $9 toll on most vehicles entering Manhattan neighborhoods south of Central Park. Read more at the link in bio.
