APPEALS COURT GREENLIGHTS SCHOOL BUDGET CUTS: An appeals court ruling on Tuesday that gives the green light to the city’s Department of Education budget cuts threatens to throw the opening of the new school year into confusion.

LABOR DEPT. TO CONDUCT STUDY ON EMPLOYMENT RATE OF TRANS PERSONS: The Department of Labor has been directed to conduct a study on the statewide employment rate of trans individuals in the state, according to legislation that Governor Kathy Hochul signed on Wednesday.

“Chipotle Mexican Grill, the fast-casual Tex-Mex “Chipotle Mexican Grill, the fast-casual Tex-Mex chain, has agreed to a $20 million settlement with the city in connection with city allegations it violated workplace protection laws around fair scheduling and paid sick leave.
