    A coalition of preservationists and environmentali A coalition of preservationists and environmentalists is racing to save the SS United States, the largest and most famous ocean liner ever built in the United States. The celebrated vessel, launched in 1951 and bigger than the Titanic, still holds the transatlantic speed record and remains a symbol of America’s proud maritime history, members of the ‘New York Coalition to Save the SS United States’ said Thursday.     Floyd — a popular bar with a 40-foot indoor bocc Floyd — a popular bar with a 40-foot indoor bocce court, located at 131 Atlantic Ave. before it closed in December — is seeking to reopen at 72 Clark St. between Hicks and Henry streets, according to The Brooklyn Heights Blog. According to paperwork filed by one of the owners, Kevin Avanzato, the bar will seat 16 at two tables and 24 at the bar for a total of 40 seats.     A man was shot and killed in a hail of gunfire in A man was shot and killed in a hail of gunfire in the early morning of Jan. 11 in Carroll Park, shocking neighbors in the leafy brownstone-Brooklyn neighborhood of Carroll Gardens. Police, who said they responded to a 911 call triggered by a ShotSpotter activation around 2:48 a.m., identified the victim as Jordan Dillard, 23, a resident of 37 Centre Mall at the Red Hook East NYCHA project, roughly a mile away from the park. “It was nine shots,” said Carroll Gardens resident John Thompson. “Clearly from a semi-automatic.
