Brooklyn DA sponsors Prescription Take Back Day around borough

BOROUGHWIDE — BROOKLYNITES WITH EXPIRED OR UNNEEDED PRESCRIPTION DRUGS can take the drugs to safe disposal events that Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez is sponsoring around the borough on April 25. One of these locations, at Il Centro, 8711 18th Ave., is within the district of Assemblymember William Colton (D-47) who made the announcement on Monday, April 14. Gonzalez will be holding Operation Prescription Drug Take Back on Friday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at seven locations around the borough.
The DA posted on the social media platform X that the lobby of his headquarters at 350 Jay St. in Downtown Brooklyn, the Bay Ridge Center for Older Adults (15 Bay Ridge Ave.), The Kings Bay Y in Sheepshead Bay (3495 Nostrand Ave.), the Catholic Charities St. Louis Older Adult Center, Crown Heights (230 Kingston Ave.), the Hope Gardens Senior Center, Bushwick (195 Linden St.), and the Cypress Hills – Fulton St. Senior Center (3208 Fulton St.) are all drop off sites.
Special treatment must also be made for used inhaler canisters, as they are pressurized.
