Cuomo leads in Dem mayor primary polls, despite not running yet

CITYWIDE – FORMER GOV. ANDREW Cuomo leads the Democratic field in a new poll on the city’s upcoming mayoral primaries, according to Politico – despite not yet announcing his actual run. 32% picked Cuomo, out of the crowded list of candidates; former comptroller Scott Stringer was in second place with 10%, while current comptroller and former Brooklyn councilmember Brad Lander came in third with 8%. Mayor Adams was tied for fifth with Assemblymember Zohran Mamdani, both with 6%, while Brooklyn state Sen. Zellnor Myrie was seventh, with 1%. Of the 800 Democratic voters polled, 18% are undecided.
The Republican field remains open, with several names expressing interest, but few declared candidates. Independent candidate Jim Walden’s campaign recently announced a fundraising milestone.
