NYPD seeks individuals involved in 11-robbery pattern involving knife and motorized scooter

BUSHWICK TO QUEENS COUNTY LINE — A MAN (OR MEN) WHO POLICE BELIEVE USED A MOTORIZED SCOOTER is on the wanted list after an 11-incident robbery spree in locations between Bushwick in northern Brooklyn and Flushing in Queens. In a string of robberies between Nov. 7 and Dec. 10, a man described as riding a dark-colored motorized scooter and wielding a knife accosted victims before stealing their cell phones, money and, in some cases, jewelry.
Seven of the incidents took place in the 83rd Precinct, which covers Bushwick. Three took place in the 75th Precinct, which includes East New York; and one occurred on Norman St., just over the Queens County line from Bushwick. The thief struck either late at night between 11 p.m. and 2:30 a.m., or in the pre-dawn hour of 5-6 a.m. The only daylight theft took place in the 83rd Precinct, around 3:50 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30.
The victims described the motorized scooter alternatively as black or dark blue. One victim described the assailant’s knife as having a silver handle; while another said it was a kitchen knife. However, no injuries were reported in any of the incidents.
Only the first victim, on Nov. 7, prevented his belongings from being stolen. In this case, two individuals were reported as having approached the victim.
