MTA worker dies after going into cardiac arrest in Brooklyn
BUSHWICK — THE TRANSPORT WORKERS UNION LOCAL 100 has alerted the public of the passing of Ricardo Louis, a subway track worker, who suffered a heart attack at the Morgan Avenue L train stop in Bushwick. He was found at approximately 3:10 a.m. Wednesday morning by his colleagues, and was rushed to Woodhull Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to PIX News.
TWU Local 100 offered resources to the family of the deceased and their condolences. The union will investigate Louis’ death.
“Transit work on the subway tracks is hazardous because of constant train traffic and because medical attention is not immediately available. TWU Local has always fought for better working conditions and we will determine whether any avoidable hazard contributed to his death,” TWU Local 100 President Richard Davis stated.
