NORTH BROOKLYN — NYPD DATA SHOWS a 14% increase in reported rapes within Patrol Bureau Brooklyn North, which includes a dozen police precincts in northern Brooklyn. Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch says that the uptick is a result of “domestic violence-related incidents,” according to News12 Brooklyn.

“That tells me that we have to, among other things certainly, take a good hard look [at] our domestic violence efforts,” Tisch said during a press conference.

The latest reported case of rape as of Monday, Jan. 6 was an attack on a 22-year-old female in Ocean Hill near Saratoga Avenue and Herkimer Street last Thursday, according to News12 Brooklyn.
